General Neatness
· Learners must always appear neat and correctly dressed.
· Untidy appearance or deliberate disregard of uniform rules may result in detention, confiscation of items, or being sent home to change.
· Uniform inspections are conducted regularly.
Hair and Grooming
· Hair must be neat, natural in colour, and may not fall into the face.
· Hair longer than the collar must be tied back.
Sideburns may not extend below the centre of the ear.
· Boys must be clean-shaven.
· Braids are permitted only in natural/dark brown shades (colours 1, 4, and 33), must be tied back, may not exceed waist length, and may not contain beads.
· Hair ties and clips must be black or white, using only one colour at a time.
· High ponytails are not permitted.
Shirts and Jerseys
· Plain white buttoned school shirt with school tie must be worn.
· The white HPHS golf shirt may only be worn for sport.
· No coloured or logo-bearing T-shirts or vests may be visible under the shirt.
· Navy long-sleeved V-neck jersey (white for Matrics) may only be worn with a blazer.
· Sleeveless navy jersey (white for Matrics) with school badge is permitted.
Jewellery and Appearance
· No visible body piercings or tattoos. Plasters may not be used to conceal piercings.
· Only a watch or medical alert bracelet may be worn.
· Religious jewellery may be worn only if not visible.
· Exemptions must be approved by the SGB.
· Make-up, false eyelashes, false nails, coloured nail varnish, and long fingernails are not permitted.

Blazers and Outerwear
· Blazers must be worn properly whenever learners are moving around the school and are compulsory throughout the year.
· A plain navy raincoat may only be worn to and from school when raining.
· Plain navy scarf or official school scarf may be worn with winter uniform.
· Official school caps and beanies may only be worn in winter, during unexpected cold weather, and after school. They may not be worn in class.
Trousers
· Grey school trousers must touch the shoes and be worn with a black belt.
· Tight-fitting or tightly tailored pants are not permitted.
Socks and Shoes
· Strictly grey school socks must be worn.
· Shoes must be plain black leather, round-toed school shoes.
Sportswear
· Blue Hyde Park shorts and Hyde Park golf shirt with blue crest are compulsory for PE and extracurricular sport.
· Regulation Hyde Park tracksuits are the only approved tracksuits for travel to/from games and after practice.
· Appropriate sports shoes must be worn.
· Learners representing the school should wear the school tracksuit as part of the team outfit.

· Navy long-sleeved V-neck jersey (white for Matrics) may only be worn with a blazer.
· Sleeveless navy jersey (white for Matrics) with school badge is permitted.

Skirts and Trousers
· Pleated grey skirt supplied by official stockists must be no shorter than four fingers above the knee.
· Grey school trousers may also be worn; they must touch the shoes and be worn with a black belt.
· Tight-fitting or tightly tailored pants are not permitted.
Socks, Stockings, and Shoes
· With skirts: white ankle socks in summer.
· With skirts: opaque black/grey stockings or long grey socks in winter.
· Shoes must be plain black leather, round-toed school shoes.
Sportswear
· Blue Hyde Park shorts and Hyde Park golf shirt with blue crest are compulsory for PE and extracurricular sport.
· Black swimming costumes or approved team costumes may be worn.
